Procedure
All classified personnel are compensated according to the Classified Salary Schedule, which is administered as follows:
- Each Vice-President, in cooperation with the employee’s immediate supervisor, determines the classification for each job within the area of responsibility.
- The College President also reviews and approves job classifications.
- Each employee is placed in the appropriate job classification bracket on the salary schedule according to the nature of the job.
- Employees move from step to step on the salary schedule with each year of experience until the maximum has been reached.
- Employees will be evaluated annually by their immediate supervisor.
- If individual job responsibilities change, the supervising Vice-President may recommend that the job classification be upgraded or downgraded as necessary.
- At the discretion of the supervising Vice-President, new employees may be given credit on the salary schedule for job-related experience earned with prior employment up to a maximum of five (5) years. This must be approved by the College President. Otherwise, all new employees will start at the beginning salary for their salary group.
