MATH 0302 Foundations of Non-Algebra Math
The course supports students in developing skills, strategies, and reasoning needed to succeed in mathematics, including communication and appropriate use of technology. Topics include the study of numeracy and the real number system. This course provides just-in-time developmental support for students enrolled in Contemporary Mathematics or Elementary Statistics. Emphasis is placed on numeracy, proportional reasoning, data interpretation, and mathematical modeling within real-world contexts. Topics include operations with real numbers, basic algebraic concepts, percentages, linear relationships, and interpretation of graphs and statistical information. Instruction is integrated with the college-level course to reinforce concepts, develop problem-solving strategies, and build confidence in mathematical reasoning.
