Enrollment Procedures All Semester Credit Hour Programs

  1. An Application for Admission should be completed at least three weeks prior to enrollment and returned to the Office of Admissions and Records. Once applications are processed, students will be notified of acceptance to Vernon College. 
  2. Official transcripts from the high school of graduation (including graduation date), colleges, or universities attended must be sent to the Office of Admissions and Records. Transcripts should be ordered to arrive at least three weeks prior to registration and should be sent by the transmitting institution to avoid disruption of registration.
  3. General Educational Development Test (GED) scores for students applying for admission by GED certificate should be provided to the Office of Admissions and Records three weeks prior to registration to avoid disruption of registration.
  4. Provide immunization documentation when required. (Please see “Immunizations” section below)
  5. Before registration, student skills may be assessed in reading, writing and mathematics. Results of this assessment are not used for admission; however, the assessment results will be used to determine eligibility to take specific courses.
  6. In order to make as smooth a transition to VC as possible, each new applicant is required to attend Chaparral Orientation. Students should contact the Office of Student Success for information. Upon completion of Chaparral Orientation, students will schedule an appointment with their designated Student Success Advisor.
  7. Students should visit the VC website for the dates and times designated for registration. Individuals registering after the final registration period will be charged a late registration fee.
  8. All applicants and returning students who have questions concerning financial aid should contact the Office of Financial Aid as early as possible. Additional information is found under the Financial Aid section of this catalog.
