Massage Therapy

The Massage Therapy program is a 9-month program consisting of 10 courses and 572 hours. This program will allow students to participate in a hands on experience leading to a flexible work schedule in a client-focused practice that promotes good health and well-being. It is incredibly rewarding to offer patients/clients immediate relief from pain associated stress, injury and illness as well as promote general wellness. These classes are offered through the Continuing Education Department and offered as a 3-semester program. Upon successful completion students will eligible to sit for the Texas state exam through TDLR.
Upon completion students will find they are qualified to find careers in healthcare, sports medicine or fitness and stress management areas. Students may find themselves in specific facilities such as: spas, franchised clinics, physician’s offices, hotels, and fitness centers.
Registration Procedures
Enrollment is limited to 12 students per year. Application packets and schedules can be found
at the Vernon College Continuing Education Office or online at www.vernoncollege.edu/CE/ (under Fast Track Careers.) Students will complete the registration process once accepted into the program. Tuition payment will be due at the time of registration. The deadlines for registration will be set upon approval of the application.
Program Requirements
1. Complete and submit the application packet for the Massage Therapy Program.
2. Provide High School Diploma or GED
3. Provide Background screen
4. Provide Drug Screen
5. Once all forms have been completed, an interview process will take place with the Coordinator of Allied Health.
6. Students under 22 years of age are required by state law to have a Bacterial Meningitis vaccination. Submit shot record (including social security number or student ID number) with program packet.
